West Ham rightly sacked Manuel Pellegrini on Saturday following a run of nine defeats in 12 games which left them just one point above the relegation zone.
The Chilean’s project in East London has undoubtedly failed as the club have nothing to show from the £170m they spent under the former boss, who brought in players this season who haven’t met expectations, such as Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals.
Between them, they’ve mustered just six goals in the league this term.
The Hammers previously stated that his appointment was meant to initiate a new dawn for the club to take it into a new direction, hence David Moyes’ dismissal, but now the Scot is heavily rumoured to join the club once again.

Some supporters can hardly believe the news. He wasn’t exactly the most popular manager in West Ham’s history after recording just nine wins from 31 league games, and some would even rather Sam Allardyce was brought in, despite previously being heavily disliked and hounded out of East London.
Moyes’ career has dwindled significantly ever since he was sacked by Manchester United, so much so that he is yet to find a job since leaving West Ham 18 months ago.
That indicates that many Premier League clubs don’t fancy him, though the same can be said of Allardyce, who has been unemployed for the same amount of time after leaving Everton at the end of the 2017/18 season.

With the Hammers in a tricky position it may be difficult to attract the names that some fans may be hoping for, and since the board are already familiar with Moyes it makes some sense to return to a dependable figure.
However, that doesn’t guarantee success, and since many of his wins were thanks to a player no longer at the club in Marko Arnautovic – who scored 11 goals in that campaign – he may find it difficult to turn the current form around if he gets the job.
West Ham fans were also vocal in their criticism of Issa Diop after the Leicester match, as the defence was all over the place for both of the Foxes’ goals.
