Marco Silva should try his luck at luring United States superstar Christian Pulisic away from Borussia Dortmund and to Everton as an upgrade on the ever-declining Theo Walcott, with The Guardian reporting Chelsea currently lead the chase.
What’s the word?
Pulisic is still just 20 years of age but has been on the scene since 2016 when he made his debut for Dortmund in a 2-0 win over Ingolstadt.
109 games later and the star is still burning bright, yet the winger – valued by TransferMarkt at £40million – may not have a future in yellow and black as the prodigy has refused to sign a new contract at BVB with his current deal set to expire in 2020, per The Guardian’s report.
Since Lucien Favre took charge of the German outfit in July, Pulisic has seen his minutes dwindle in favour of the emerging English talent that is Jadon Sancho and because of a torn calf muscle.
The winger has not shied away, however, and scored his side’s winner from the bench against Club Bruges in the Champions League and appeared for his country on Thursday night as the USA took on England at Wembley.

Could it happen?
If Pulisic is on the free-market, Everton may struggle in a quest for his signature with Chelsea said to be leading the way having shown the most interest to date, according to The Guardian.
Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked to the 20-year-old, and the red half of Merseyside may be positioned well given Jurgen Klopp was in charge of Dortmund when the 22-cap international joined the Bundesliga outfit.
What Everton will have in their favour, though, is that they will represent a greater chance for first team football and unlike Chelsea are able to get the most out of younger players.
Recent performances from Walcott will also tell Silva he has a need for a new winger at Goodison Park, as the ex-Arsenal man continues to produce average displays despite starting each Premier League game under the Portuguese coach.
The former England-regular has produced two goals so far this season, lacked in creativity with 2 assists from 10 key passes and completed 15 successful dribbles out of a total 26 – contributing to losing possession 53 times, according to WhoScored.
Pulisic, meanwhile, has averaged 1.4 key passes and 6.6 dribbles per 90 minutes throughout his career, both higher than the 29-year-old’s current Toffees record.
