[ad_pod ]Earlier this week, Alexis Sanchez’s public apology for Manchester United’s dismal form lead to a tirade of abuse from supporters, many using it as an opportunity to make their feelings clear about wanting the Chilean to leave Old Trafford. However, it appears not all United fans feel that way.Indeed, despite a cataclysmic 18 months that has seen Sanchez find the net just three times in 32 Premier League appearances since joining United from Arsenal, some United fans on Twitter are pushing for him to stay at Old Trafford for the 2019/20 season.Sanchez arrived at United to significant fanfare but has thus far failed to repeat his successful exploits at Arsenal, becoming a peripheral figure under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.Weighed down by Sanchez’s monstrous wages, United could look to get rid of the problematic forward this summer with both Juventus and Inter Milan keen on the former Barcelona star, although his wages remain a stumbling block according to The Independent.
The Italian clubs would likely require United to subsidise a portion of Sanchez’s wages, while the Daily Mail has also claimed that Inter would be keen on a permanent deal.
Sanchez has previously found success in Serie A, scoring 21 goals for Udinese before signing for Barcelona in the summer of 2011.
Although a transfer away from United now looks likely, Sanchez still appears hopeful of finding his best form at Old Trafford and there are sections of the United support that would like him to stay for the time being.
